petty bourgeois...they are reactionary, but would they help the proletariat? i mean....they'd leap at the chance to take their place, but do you think they'd be helpful?

i thought the zapatistas formed communes in a province in mexico...?

Forming communes is not the strategy of marxists

it is the ideology of utopian socialists which was defeated by Scientific socialism of Marx and Engels

The point is that they aren't fighting for socialist revolution nor can they offer a program for change to the working class. Populists merely fight for the redistribution of land and that is because of the class nature of the peasantry.
